Job Title: Senior Email Marketing Developer Reporting to: Marketing Operations Specialist Location: On-Site (OFallon, MO) Position Type: Full-time Exempt Summary: Milestone Marketing Solutions is looking for a marketing professional looking to specialize in data-driven email deployment and analytics. From experience or education, an ideal candidate will have technical competency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, and experience or familiarity with Email Deployment Tools. The Email Marketing Specialist will contribute to planning, developing, implementing and maintaining the overall company's email marketing strategy. Essential Job Duties: (All Levels) * Our best candidate will be motivated to learn new tools and processes, excited to take new approaches to existing systems, and have an interest in the unique data flows and waterfalls that makes Milestone run * Manage content A/B testing to drive continuous improvement in a variety of campaigns * Data analytics background would also be beneficial, with a candidate having an eagerness to analyze performance and suggest adjustments with data selection and creative deployment * Take requirements from non-technical stakeholders, plan workflows, and execute email marketing campaigns * Operate in an Agile development environment utilizing Jira and other Atlassian products for project management * Collaborate with marketing and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, plan workflows, and execute campaigns * Develop responsive HTML email templates and dynamic content using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement (SFMC) * Manage A/B testing and campaign performance tracking * Operate in an Agile development environment utilizing Jira and other Atlassian tools * Support continuous improvement through innovation in tools, processes, and execution Essential Job Duties: (Senior Level) * Lead design and architecture of scalable email solutions across multiple business units * Mentor junior developers and guide technical best practices * Optimize data architecture and integrations across CRM, SFMC, and external systems * Implement advanced automation strategies using APIs, AMPscript, and server-side JavaScript * Own deliverability strategy, including DNS (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and inbox placement monitoring * Partner with leadership to shape overall marketing technology strategy Skills and Qualifications: * Proficiency with JavaScript or similar languages * Experience with responsive HTML design, preferably in emails * Experience with Handlebars, EJS, or other HTML templating engines * Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement (formerly ExactTarget) * An understanding of REST and SOAP APIs * Familiarity with CRM systems, data flows, and relational databases * Microsoft Office Proficiency, Excel focused * Experience with DNS, git, or PowerShell are pluses * Expert in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including cross-channel automation, advanced scripting, and custom integrations * Strong background in JavaScript, server-side scripting, and API development * Advanced SQL and data architecture design * Proven experience managing DNS configurations for email deliverability * Skilled in version control workflows and CI/CD pipelines * Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions Work Environment: * The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment.
