Hyundai Exterior Senior Designer
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Sketch and model designs using Alias and/or Maya.
Understand and respond to engineering requirements.
Create compelling design proposals for concept and production cars through sketches, renderings, and 3D models.
Develop Digital Line Plans (3D Tape Drawings) of selected themes.
Research trends in packaging, materials, and automotive design through online resources, print media, and industry events, reporting findings via PowerPoint.
Collaborate with management, engineering, marketing, and design teams to integrate design criteria.
Develop designs over engineering packages using Alias and/or Maya.
Oversee model development by clay and CAS sculptors and fabricators.
Consult with engineering and manufacturing to meet styling and manufacturing standards.
Create high-quality publication images for press releases and brochures using Photoshop, Alias, Maya, VRed, and photography.
Guide vendors in producing concept vehicles for auto shows worldwide.
Travel to Korea to coordinate with Namyang Design and Engineering teams and vendors.
Benchmark competitors' vehicles to inform design direction.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Automotive, or Transportation Design.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
Proficiency in the following software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Alias, Maya, VRed, PowerPoint.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Expertise in automotive design.
5-7 years of relevant experience or notable concept and production cars.
Ability to create digital models suitable for milling.
Capability to take over and complete designs from other designers objectively.
Leadership skills to manage projects from start to finish, including international travel for model builds.
Mentoring abilities for less experienced designers.

Compensation: $107,000 - $140,000 annually.
