Minimum 1+ years pharmacy experience required.
We are seeking an experienced IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join a fast-paced cancer center pharmacy in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a full-time contract position with potential to extend beyond 68 weeks for the right candidate.
This role demands a focused, self-directed professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and requires minimal training. Strong sterile compounding and chemo mixing experience is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare sterile compounded chemotherapy medications
Mix precise chemo dosages per physician orders
Verify prescription information and dosage with accuracy and efficiency
Maintain accurate records of prescription orders and physician communications
Manage inventory and maintain a clean, safe compounding space
Deliver excellent service to patients and healthcare providers
Contribute positively to a team-oriented work environment
Shift Details:
Monday through Friday, 7:00am 4:00pm
No weekends
Required Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician License
PTCB certification required (unless candidate is highly experienced in compounding)
Minimum 23 years of recent sterile compounding experience, including chemotherapy
Proficient with systems such as OcoEMR, Nucleus, and Pharm Keeper or similar tools
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment
