Description:
Frac Operators are responsible for assisting in hydraulic fracturing operations and managing the flowback of fluids from wells. They ensure safe and efficient processes, including equipment setup, operation, and maintenance, in challenging field conditions. These roles require working in remote and outdoor environments for extended periods
Mid-level position where the operator performs more complex tasks in frac and flowback operations, requiring less supervision. The operator is responsible for troubleshooting and equipment maintenance and ensures operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
Requirements:Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in the setup and execution of hydraulic fracturing operations, including rigging up and down of equipment.
• Monitor well pressure and flow rates, ensuring the operation is running safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance on frac equipment, troubleshooting and repairing issues as needed.
• Record and report flowback data, including detailed pressure and flow rate readings, to supervisors.
• Actively participate in the flowback process, managing fluid returns, gas flaring, and separation systems.
• Ensure all safety and environmental regulations are followed and proactively identify any issues.
• Work closely with other field technicians and site management to ensure smooth operations.
• Model professionalism from the proper use of PPE, integration of ‘living’ JSAs, and checklists.
• Possess detailed knowledge of best practices and expert situational awareness of pad operations.
• Capable of independently supporting frac, drill out, flowback, and production operations.
• Can operate, fix, or construct safe and resourceful workarounds for manifold, plug catcher, SKO, line heater, and low/high-pressure separator.
Skills & Abilities:
• Perform all duties of Frac Operator I with added responsibilities for independent equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Intermediate mechanical skills and ability to operate frac equipment independently.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
• Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
• Stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and inspect equipment in various positions.
• Physically capable of lifting 50-100 lbs and working long hours in extreme conditions.
• Work in high-noise environments (over 85 dBA) with appropriate hearing protection.
• Adapt to outdoor conditions, including extreme weather and various terrains.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Training & Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience with flowback, Drill Out & Frac equipment.
• Leadership experience in field service operations.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Additional training to be assigned as needed
