Additionally, you will work with the UNC Digital Accessibility Office to ensure all websites meet WCAG AA standards. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain WordPress websites with a focus on pixel-perfect design implementation and write semantic well-commented code. Work with the ITS Digital Services team to integrate and ensure responsiveness and performance. Utilize WordPress Block Editor and Full Site Editing capabilities, using UNC Digital Services in house university theme. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress theme development and testing. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and communicate clearly to ensure project requirements are met. Work with the UNC Digital Accessibility Office to ensure all websites meet WCAG AA standards. Write training documents for site owners. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a WordPress developer with strong HTML and CSS skills. Proficient in modern CSS techniques for performance optimization (Flexbox, Grid layouts) Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills using developer console. Understanding of WordPress multisite setups, including full site editing capabilities, and proficiency in both the block editor and classic editor. Strong problem-solving skills/debugging and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to WordPress. Experience working with digital accessibility standards that meet WCAG AA standards.
