Position Overview
The Roofing Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for roofing projects, ensuring compliance with Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County requirements. The role involves analyzing blueprints, using industry-standard estimating software, and collaborating with project managers and clients to deliver competitive bids.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed and accurate roofing project estimates for commercial and occasional residential jobs.
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and requirements.
Utilize estimating software ( Estimating Edge, Bluebeam, Planswift ) to generate cost proposals.
Create 2D or 3D drawings using AutoCAD to support project planning.
Ensure all estimates meet Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County product approval requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scopes and budgets.
Perform site visits as needed to gather measurements, assess conditions, and verify project details.
Track costs, materials, and labor for ongoing and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy.
Meet deadlines for bid submissions and support the team in securing profitable contracts.
Required:
Minimum 3 years of roofing estimating experience (commercial focus preferred).
Proficiency in Estimating Edge, Bluebeam, and Planswift .
Skilled in AutoCAD for 2D/3D drawings.
In-depth knowledge of Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade County approvals .
Strong math, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work 2 Saturdays per month to meet project deadlines.
Ability to pass a drug test and background check .
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field (asset but not required).
