The Position The Performance Analytics team is responsible for calculating, analyzing, and reporting performance returns and risk statistics for client portfolios, strategy composites, and benchmarks. The team serves as an analytical resource for marketing, portfolio management, and other key stakeholders. The Performance Analyst is responsible for assisting in the monthly reporting cycle and regularly rotates with other members of the team for exposure to those tasks. The analyst will own tasks related to reporting analytics to the firm and will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of it. They will also work closely with other team members to gain exposure to different teams and projects at the firm. This individual will need to excel in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and be proactive in establishing productive relationships with key stakeholders throughout the process. Responsibilities Calculate, analyze, and report portfolio, security, and benchmark performance Prepare and explain attribution analysis Prepare and organize risk and return data for client reports and prospective client presentations Ensure proper Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) procedures are followed; work with senior members of the team to complete the annual verification as required Respond to ad hoc requests from Portfolio Managers, the Distribution department and other key stakeholders Participate in webinar analysis preparation and project work as directed, working with other teams at the firm as required Proactively identify issues, problems, or opportunities for process improvements; propose and help implement solutions Conduct checks of other team members’ work to ensure it is error-free Ensure strong operational controls are applied and implemented Qualifications Required Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Understanding of the conventions of performance analysis and risk measurement Strong data management skills, with an emphasis on Excel Demonstrated ability to work independently on a set list of tasks, and demonstrate strong time management skills Ability to produce accurate work in a timely fashion Bachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years of work experience as a performance analyst, or other role that provided experience with the formulas, calculations, and mathematics of performance and risk measurement Preferred Accounting and/or Finance background and experience Experience with any of the following applications: Eagle, FactSet, CAPS, Bloomberg or other performance management or analytics system Work experience that has provided the candidate with exposure to other middle office functions including investment accounting, security set up, pricing, and client reporting Working knowledge of using SQL queries Working knowledge of macros and VBA Understanding of Global Investment Performance Standards We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to integrate life and work and to support our employees and their families.
