Description Position Overview: The Network Engineer will provide technical support and assistance related to LAN/WAN issues. This role acts as a first level problem identification and resolution resource, including answering questions, providing advice, investigating, troubleshooting, and follow-up to assist IT support teams and ISPs in solving problems. This role should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and configuration. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Work directly with IT support teams to resolve level I & II LAN/WAN issues (Cisco/Meraki) Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot software, hardware, and infrastructure which may include but is not limited to: switches, routers, firewalls and cloud Work directly with ISPs to troubleshoot and resolve SD-WAN circuit issues Provide Wireless Networking administration and support (Cisco/Meraki) Monitor network performance and integrity Communicate with end users when needed, both onsite and remote Build and maintain network documentation of networks and server rooms Suggest improvements of network performance, capacity and scalability Provide on-call support and some weekend work Requirements and Qualifications: Minimum 5 years Industry-related experience as a Network Engineer Solid background in network administration and configuration Professional certification preferred (e.g. CCNA, CMSS) In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) Working knowledge and understanding of 802.11x protocol Experience working with Cisco ISE focusing mainly on radius and TACACS Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls related to remote and site to site VPN administration Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools) Experience with Cisco/Meraki Enterprise wireless network configuration, and support Solid understanding of the 7 layers of the OSI Model Sharp troubleshooting and project management skills Ability to work independently Ability to travel (10%) Pay, Benefits and More: Pay Range: $86-110K Competitive compensation package Full health insurance (medical, dental and vision), 401(k), Life insurance, tuition assistance, PTO and MORE!
