Job Description

Datadog is seeking aManager, Sales Engineering to join our high-growth organization and world-class pre-sales team. You will lead a high-performing team of Sales Engineers supporting the LATAM and AMER regions, guiding them through the sales cycle and coaching them to deliver business value during discovery, demos, and product evaluations. This hands-on management role involves actively engaging in customer sales conversations and strategic account activities to support your team and drive value. You will also help foster strong cross-functional collaboration between the Sales Engineering team and other organizations across Datadog.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with the LATAM and AMER Customer Success organization to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision and strategy to customers
  • Manage a team of individual contributors that are working to expand usage and adoption of Datadog in customer accounts
  • Manage resource allocation of your team and ensure their maximum productivity, engagement, and business impact
  • Assist recruiting efforts to find and hire top talent and onboard them to ensure proper ramping of skills and capabilities
  • Ensure that your team is enabled to support all required Datadog solutions along with key technical and soft skills
  • Work closely with LATAM sales and partner managers to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Develop a close working relationship with Product Management, Support, and Enablement to ensure continuity between pre and post sales activities
  • Perform talent management that includes regular coaching, performance reviews, career development plans, and compensation decisions

Who You Are:

  • Experienced, with 3+ years in a Sales Engineering leadership or mentorship role, and 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or equivalent client-facing position
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese and/or Spanish.
  • Coachable, with a strong desire for professional growth and a proven ability to adapt to change
  • Effective at developing and growing high-performing teams
  • Skilled in recruiting top technical sales talent
  • Knowledgeable about modern infrastructure, monitoring solutions, and related technologies
  • Capable of building customer evaluation plans and mentoring others to do the same
  • Communicate and clearly articulate business value and technical benefits—while also coaching others to do so
  • Strategic and creative in solving a wide range of challenges

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at Datadog is: $140,000 — $180,000 USD
