Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and hydraulic experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and trucks
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and safety concerns
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Respond to breakdowns in the field or shop as needed

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• OEM certifications (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, etc.)
• Welding and fabrication experience
• ASE or equivalent certification
• Field service experience
