We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and long-term planning of our diverse and growing portfolio of land assets, green spaces, and public amenities. This role will ensure our facilities are safe, secure, clean, and operating efficiently while managing budgets, vendor contracts, and capital projects. Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance Oversee daily operations of all Port KC facilities, parks, and land assets, ensuring they are well-maintained, safe, and operational. Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for all properties, including security and infrastructure. Ensure all facilities comply with safety and environmental regulations. Manage facility-related emergencies and coordinate response efforts. Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Oversee vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring high-quality services for maintenance, security, cleaning, and utilities. Negotiate service agreements and ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance tasks. Space & Capital Project Management Oversee space planning and utilization, optimizing facility layouts and future expansion plans. Manage capital improvement projects, including renovations and new developments, from planning to execution. Identify opportunities for sustainability initiatives and improvements in energy efficiency. Develop and implement a staffing plan to support current and future facility operations. Supervise and support internal maintenance staff and external contractors. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Future Growth & Strategic Planning Develop long-term strategies for the growth and sustainability of Port KC’s facilities and green spaces. Collaborate with leadership on property development and asset management plans. Implement and improve facility management processes and procedures. What You Need To Succeed Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Real Estate, Finance, Project Management or equivalent. Minimum of 3+ years of proven experience in facility management, maintenance, or a related field. Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities, security, and safety protocols. Budget management and vendor negotiation experience. Ability to develop and implement operational procedures and best practices. Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Highly adaptable, organized, and capable of working independently or with a team. Experience managing capital projects and space planning is a plus. Preferred Qualifications CPM or similar designation and/or the desire to pursue designation Why Port KC?
