We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our endocrinology practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and a deep understanding of endocrine disorders, particularly diabetes and thyroid conditions. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing specialized treatment plans, and collaborating with our healthcare team to ensure comprehensive endocrine care.
Duties
Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments of patients with endocrine disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease, and other hormonal imbalances.
Administer medications, including insulin, hormone therapies, injections, and IV infusions, as needed.
Perform and interpret diagnostic evaluations and procedures relevant to endocrinology.
Manage acute and chronic endocrine conditions, including diabetic complications.
Collaborate with endocrinologists and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on managing their endocrine conditions, including diabetes self-management, diet, and lifestyle modifications.
Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care practices in endocrinology.
Provide telehealth services as required to meet patient needs.
Skills
Candidates should possess a variety of skills that enhance their ability to deliver exceptional care in an endocrinology setting. A strong background in managing diabetes and thyroid conditions is mandatory.
Preferred skills also include:
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical billing.
Strong patient assessment skills including vital signs monitoring and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Experience in outpatient clinic settings.
Ability to perform procedures like venipuncture and specimen collection/processing.
Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
