Job Description Job Description Savannah Coffee Roasters is looking for a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team. We are a high-volume café and bakery that takes pride in crafting the majority of our menu in-house from scratch —from baked goods to savory entrees. Prep work is a key part of this role, and we value individuals who take pride in the details. We believe not everyone is meant to be a chef—but everyone deserves the opportunity to try . That’s why we place all new hires on a 30-day probationary period . This allows our management team time to evaluate if the candidate is the right fit for our culture, our pace, and our standards. Key Responsibilities Execute thorough prep work and daily production with precision Set up, maintain, and break down workstations to standard Cook and plate dishes following recipes and portioning guidelines Uphold food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the shift Communicate effectively and work as part of a team Remain off personal cell phones during all working hours Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen or prep-focused role Solid prep skills; comfortable working in a scratch kitchen Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and safety procedures Strong attention to detail, ability to follow direction, and a positive attitude Able to stand for 8–10 hours and lift/move kitchen items as needed Must have or obtain a valid Food Safety Certification within 45 days of hire (company will arrange training if needed; failure to obtain will result in release from employment ) What We Offer A 30-minute paid break per shift Hands-on experience in a from-scratch, production-driven kitchen Growth potential within a well-established Savannah institution A team that values professionalism, quality, and commitment Important Notes New hires are subject to a 30-day probationary period .
