Job Description

SDMS Robotics is a Fanuc authorized robot system integrator looking for a full time CNC programmer to join our team. We supply custom robotic systems to load and unload CNC machines for customers throughout the Southwest

We are looking for candidates with a diverse skill set to help us with both the manufacturing and installation of our robot systems, as well as advise the engineering team.

Most urgently, we need a CNC machinist who can also perform basic metal fabrication .The chief responsibilities of this position will be the programming, setup, machining and inspection of precision machined parts, the welding together of steel weldments from prefabricated parts, and assisting with robot fabrication.

Work will be full-time, to take place mostly at our facility in Kearny Mesa, as well as on the road at our customers throughout California.

Responsibilities

• Generate NC programs for parts using Fusion 360 CAM
• Perform quality assurance checks on parts to ensure they meet specifications
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Prepare and clean CNC machines and parts
• Cut, drill and tap sheet/plate metal parts
• Weld steel weldments consisting of tube and waterjet/laser cut parts
• Travel to deliver and assist in the commissioning of turnkey robot systems
• Communicate with engineering and work as a team to complete tasks
• Work independently when required to complete assigned tasks

Skills

• Proven experience as a CNC machinist or similar role
• Experience in Mig welding
• Understanding of 3D CAM software (Fusion 360 preferred)
• Experience with programming, setup and operation of CNC milling machines (Brother or Fanuc controls preferred)
• Hands-on experience with manual machine tools preferred

• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Access to own car
• Ability to spend multiple nights away from home
