Job Description

PrideStaff is seeking skilled heavy-load Forklift Operator for Industrial Manufacturing Steel Company in Harrisburg, NC . Must have experience in construction or other difficult environments. Operating a forklift only in a warehouse setting will not be considered.

Location: Harrisburg, NC 28075
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am *occasional Friday night work
Pay: $19/hr.

Experience

• Forklift operating experience in construction, lumber yard or other difficult environments, operating a forklift only in a warehouse setting will not work.
• Has operated a forklift in an outdoor environment on uneven terrain
• Capable of operating a cutting torch for the purpose of adding vent/drain holes in steel
• Has operated/carried awkward-sized sized loads
• The individual needs to have more experience than simply moving pallets in a warehouse
• Has led/directed the activities of 3-5 other employees
• This individual will be responsible for the productive output of 2-4 people
• Must have the willingness to get "hands-on" i.e. get off the lift and work as required

Description

• Soft fabricated steel in preparation for the galvanizing process
• Responsible for pulling orders of steel rods, loading trucks, and moving large coils of steel
• This includes:
• Placing large beams in stands
• Maneuvering large lifts and fabricated steel within small spaces
• Picking up heavy, awkwardly shaped steel members and moving them carefully without damaging
• Ensure other employees are working efficiently and safely
• Prioritize schedule and allocate manpower effectively
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Understand the jigs, fixtures, racks, baskets, and other methods we use for running material and be capable of selecting appropriate method based on the type of material to be run
• Operate grander to remove surface contaminates before galvanizing
