• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Patient Ratio: 1:3\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,780 - $1,910\n

\n\nNICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience (Level III NICU preferred)\n
• Prior travel nursing experience required\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)\n
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, STABLE (current and valid)\n
• Experience with Cerner charting preferred\n
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations considered)\n
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n
• On-site work required; remote not available\n
• Local candidates within 50 miles not eligible\n

\n\nNICU RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver specialized nursing care to high-risk neonates in a Level III NICU setting\n
• Administer blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, and antivirals\n
• Perform APGAR scoring, manage arterial lines, and assist with lumbar punctures\n
• Attend high-risk deliveries and support breastfeeding and breast milk handling\n
• Operate bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, and oxygen delivery systems\n
• Monitor blood glucose, administer insulin, and manage chest tubes\n
• Care for neonates with meconium aspiration, NEC, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and sepsis\n
• Perform neonatal dosage calculations and provide developmental care\n
• Start and maintain IVs, manage central lines, and perform phlebotomy\n
• Utilize therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), phototherapy, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)\n
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the NICU experience\n
