Job Description

Tax Associate Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Research Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Organize and analyze client financial data to ensure accurate and complete filings. Prepare supporting documentation, workpapers, and schedules. Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to support compliance and identify planning opportunities. Stay current on tax code changes and apply relevant updates to client work. Help maintain organized and audit-ready client records. Client Interaction & Support Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify tax-related questions. Respond to client inquiries regarding tax notices and filings. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client communications. Learning & Development Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning to build technical tax knowledge. Develop analytical and problem-solving skills through real-world tax scenarios. Take initiative in understanding tax software, tools, and industry best practices. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation a plus). 0–5 years of experience in tax, accounting, or a related field. Basic understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with tax software is a plus. Preferred Actively pursuing CPA or EA certification. Internship or entry-level experience in public accounting or corporate tax. Strong research and analytical abilities.
