Job Description

An online application is required for any Clover Park School District substitute looking for substitute opportunities during summer school.

Summer school substitute pay rates:

$26.66/hour- Residency and Emergency Sub


$28.00/hour-For those that have completed CPSD Guest Teacher Training


$30.00/hour -subsitutes that have retired from the Clover Park School District

Summer School Dates: June 23, 2025 - July 11, 2025 Monday - Friday


(No summer school on July 4)

Summer School Hours and Locations:

Elementary:


Evergreen
Four Heroes

Hours: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Focus: 3-5 Project Based Learning General Education Teacher

  • Instruction of students entering 3-5 Grade Fall 2025

Middle Level:


Thomas Middle School

Hours: 9:30am - 1:00pm

Focus: 7th-8th CTE Robotics Focus Instruction

  • Instruction of students entering 7th-8th Grade Fall 2025

High School:


Harrison Prep


Lakes High School

Focus : 11th-12th Credit Recovery Teachers

  • Instruction of students entering 11th - 12th grades Fall 2025

Two Summer School Sessions

AM Session Hours: 8:45am- 11:00am


PM Session Hours: 11:30am - 1:45pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate: Residency, Substitute, Emergency Substitute
  • Thorough knowledge of subject areas taught.
  • Attend required summer school traning.

II. SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT


Under general direction of the program administrator, position responsibility includes planning, monitoring, and evaluating varied online learning experiences of students in cooperation with other staff, parents, and the public.

III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Prepare student monitoring plans for online programs as needed.
2. Provide individual differentiation for the learning needs of students.
3. Demonstrate subject tutoring.
4. Provide an educational climate based upon mutual respect, rapport, fairness, and consistency.
5. Demonstrate competency in online instructional skills.
6. Develop and evaluate in terms of planned goals and revise instruction as a result of the evaluation of student progress.
7. Inform pupils and parent/guardians of their progress in terms of objectives set for the lesson or course of study on weekly and monthly basis.
8. Interact positively with students, professional associates, and patrons of the school district.
9. Meet classes, render accurate reports, perform assigned duties punctually, and respond to all online submissions in a timely manner.
10. Adjust to varied situations, demands, and new instructional concepts.
11. Fulfill job-related non-teaching duties.
12. Handle student discipline and attendant problems.

IV.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education and Experience


1. Baccalaureate degree in Education or related field.

1. Ability to develop and implement online course support.
2. Thorough knowledge of subject areas taught.
3. Ability to organize time and materials effectively.
4. Ability to be flexible.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and volunteers in a diverse


environment.
6. Ability to incorporate literacy and math instruction into other areas of instruction.
7. Continue professional study and activity.

C. Certification and Licenses


1.Successful completion of fingerprint and background check.

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a regular school building.

Summer school hiring needs are based on student enrollment.

SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS ARE ON-CALL, AT-WILL POSITIONS WITH NO GUARANTEE OF HOURS OR WORK.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employee's responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

Employees who are anticipated to work 630 hours during the school year (September 1 through August 31) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, long term disability and basic life insurance benefits.
