Job Description

This newly created postion as Strategy and Technology CTO North America (NAM) you will ensure a compelling technical voice of Nokia for our customers and other regional stakeholders (e.g. regulators and analysts). Acting as the main point of contact for S&T Global Leadership team and a critical source of market and competitive insights this will draw on your experience in the NAM region in this very visible position both internally and externally. Overall you will position Nokia as Innovation powerhouse and thought leadership in the NAM region and championing S&T initiatives and architect of the major strategic projects in NAM. This is an individual contributor style role which reports to VP Technology Leadership, Strategy and Technology. We are looking for you that have Broad applied technology insights across both the telecommunication domain (CSPs) and adjacent domains (enterprise, hyperscalers) within the NAM region A track record of working commercially with C-level and other decision makers within our domain in a similar position within the NAM region Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels Responsibilities Be the main North American SPOC for Global S&T leadership related to the market/regional stakeholders and customers Actively evangelize new and upcoming product innovations to increase Nokia's differentiation & mindshare in the region. Supporting Nokia corporate and BG strategy through deep understanding of our customers and local markets. Representing & prioritizing local/unique country requirements as well as consolidated regional requirements and technology themes/direction of the NAM region. Keep tab of "what is new & disruptive" in NAM. Support all BGs (NAM market) in collaboration with S&T Technology Leadership Advisors Develop the long-term technology strategy for NAM based on BG strategies and Nokia's Technology Strategy. This in collaboration with BG teams and S&T Technology Leadership Advisors. Evaluate the business potential that new innovations and technologies can have on their product portfolio, e.g., 6G, AI, Web 3.0 et al Setup and drive Proof of Concept engagements with our customers around potentially new technologies Collaboration between Bell Labs and the internal Business Group / Business Lines communities, on various projects we are engaged in. Organize and support 'CTO' level engagement with key operators to align focus areas of research and priority of standards topics, and drive and strengthen collaboration for mutual success. Ensure 6G success in North America by actively engaging with applicable industry forums, alliances & local/global industry bodies. Support standardization efforts in relevant standardization organizations, Govt bodies, academia, ecosystem partners and various industry bodies. This in collaboration with S&T Nokia Standards. Maintain active contact with early stage/startup companies, investors, and the research community (Universities, labs, forums) in areas that are potentially of interest to Nokia. Evangelize in public forums on the long-term direction we believe the market and our portfolio will take. Track Competitive Intelligence and advise the S&T leadership team on technology trends. In-depth intelligence & analysis of Competition, Regulatory, Spectrum, Standards, Consultation Papers, O-RAN, Space, Industry verticals, Webscalers et al Ensure active contribution and collaboration with global stakeholders for the Nokia Tech Strategy and Technology Vision Driving and collaborating with Group Security on major security and regulatory topics related to customers and government authorities in NAM. Driving and supporting global strategic projects based on business needs across NAM. Broad applied technology insights across the telecommunication domain and broader ecosystem (CSPs, Enterprise, hyperscalers) and other adjacent domains A track record of working commercially with C-level and other decision makers within the NAM region Detailed knowledge and experience of the North American telecom eco system working in a similar role before Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics/Mathematics Additional MBA or consulting experience highly desirable In depth and broad NAM business & telecoms market knowledge Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels working in similar size highly matrix style organization Proactive problem solver Excellent analytical mindset and ability to understand the intersection of technology and business Proven track record in creating technology strategies and managing technology R&D investments and portfolios within the telecommunication domain and broader ecosystem Come create the technology that helps the world act together Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
