Job Description

As a Senior Electrical Engineer with ten (10) years of related work experience, you will be responsible for developing electrical subsystem and modules for the SatCom user terminals under guidance from Hardware Engineering Manager. The design work includes high current power supplies, high speed digital, microprocessor, micro-controller, CPLD, FPGA, mix signal RF/analog, and PCB layout. An ideal candidate should have strong product development capability to support industrial and product design from concept development to mass production. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience of lab testing and debugging. This role should also have proven experience of supporting and communicating with international vendors/suppliers to deliver products.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

• Responsible for development of electrical architecture with general devices like micro-controller, CPLD, and FPGA
• Design, implement, and test high current switching power supplies.
• Create and review the hardware design documents, including block diagram, schematics, BOM, etc.
• Design hardware and circuitry per module or system requirements.
• Conduct simulations for signal and power integrity.
• Manage BOM components and work with procurement team.
• Create comprehensive verification and test plans for module development, prototype and production.
• Perform board bring-up, debug, and validation of designs to achieve functional and performance goals.
• Test and validate prototypes and products to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Work with various suppliers and Contract Manufacturers
• Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) tasks.
• Document design, test, debug, and validation details in technical development cycles.
• Support other team members and customers to perform integration and test campaign in the component-, module- and system-level validations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• BSEE or MSEE and minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience
• Strong knowledge of microelectronics, electrical power systems, and circuit theories
• High-speed multi-gigabit digital system design experience
• Experience with general lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, etc.
• Experience with schematic and PC layout tools.
• Experience with simulation and modeling tools, including PSPICE and signal integrity tools.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of various protocols, including Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, LVDS, RS232, etc.
• Strong knowledge of general power supply components
• Experience in FPGA design and microprocessors is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas with engineers, vendors, and customers.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, coupled with well-focused details.

Pay Transparency

The estimated salary range for this role is $135,000 - $170,000.

Actual pay will vary based on varying factors, including but not limited to relevant experience.
