Senior Director, Senior Legal Counsel - Human Rights Join to apply for the Senior Director, Senior Legal Counsel - Human Rights role at The Coca-Cola Company The Senior Legal Counsel, Human Rights will report directly to the Associate General Counsel, Global Strategic Partnerships, and will lead the Company’s Global Human Rights Compliance Strategy and related Human Rights programs. The successful candidate will be an experienced lawyer, a Global Human Rights regulatory subject matter expert, and will have executive presence, the ability to influence, and will provide dynamic advocacy, within our system and with external stakeholders, to ensure alignment with the Company’s Human Rights Compliance Strategy and to protect our license to operate. They will work cross-functionally across legal networks, Global Procurement, Technical Innovation & Supply Chain, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability, and our Operating Units and System Bottlers to identify, evaluate, mitigate, remediate, and report human rights risks in our supply chain. The role also involves engaging in multi-stakeholder forums and driving industry collaboration. Responsibilities include: Legal Compliance: Maintain understanding of laws like California Transparency in Supply Act, UK Modern Slavery Act, EU’s CSDDD, Trade Restrictions, and liability standards; collaborate with legal teams; establish routines with sourcing and procurement; participate as a regulatory SME in supply negotiations; advise manufacturing and warehouse legal teams; support reporting obligations to stakeholders and regulators. Due Diligence: Support the Global Human Rights Committee; monitor risks and trends; maintain risk dashboards; ensure supplier standards are up-to-date; develop audit programs and training; support capacity building in supply chain; manage global customer agreements related to human rights; coordinate with audit firms and promote auditor quality. Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and build relationships with external stakeholders; represent Coca-Cola in industry associations and multi-stakeholder initiatives; liaise with public affairs and legal teams to track regulatory trends; provide leadership and advocacy on human rights issues. This is a senior role requiring participation in cross-functional teams, establishing positive relationships, and balancing multiple priorities.
