Until is an early-stage startup developing a “pause button” for biology. Our goal is to transform how humanity interacts with interventional medicine through reversible cryopreservation, enabling medical hibernation, unlocking safer transplantation, supporting deep-space exploration, and redefining our relationship with the future. To achieve this, we’re assembling an interdisciplinary team of biologists, biochemists, applied physicists, engineers, and materials scientists to tackle challenges from the molecular level to full systems integration. We prioritize diversity of thought and value creative, first-principles approaches. The Role: As a Research Associate, you will play a vital role to drive the execution and analysis of high-throughput molecular discovery across in vitro models and tissues. The primary focus of this role will be to execute, optimize, and troubleshoot wet lab experiments including mammalian cell culture, automated screening experiments using liquid handling robotics, plate-reader based assays, microscopy, and flow cytometry. The person in this role is encouraged to take on significant ownership of specific technical challenges. As a research associate, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with team members to develop new protocols and assays screening and developing new molecules. Key Responsibilities: Perform high-throughput screening (HTS) assays to support a molecular discovery pipeline, utilizing automated liquid handlers Perform microplate-plate assays, microscopy, and genomics experiments to support the molecular discovery pipeline . Maintain and experiment with various mammalian cell-based in vitro models Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate experimental findings into practical solutions Ensure robust and accurate experimental collection and on-time data reporting Who You Are: You have an undergraduate and/or master’s degree in Bioengineering, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Immunology, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in a similar role and a record of success performing complex laboratory procedures You demonstrate a desire to work in a multidisciplinary lab environment and learn new skills in other fields You demonstrate agency, problem solving, passion for discovery, and a drive to push the boundaries of science through meaningful involvement in an ambitious project You have experience independently maintaining and working with mammalian cell lines $90,000 - $100,000 a year Seniority level Seniority level Entry level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Research, Analyst, and Information Technology Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Until by 2x Get notified about new Research And Development Specialist jobs in San Francisco Bay Area .
