Production Manager at CONAGRA summary:

As a Production Manager in a food manufacturing plant, you will lead plant personnel to ensure high-quality production at cost-effective standards. You are responsible for overseeing production processes, training staff, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and promoting continuous improvement. Collaborating with the Operations Manager, you will ensure the efficient functioning of production machinery and coordinate raw material availability.

Job Summary

As an on-site 1st shift manager, you will be reporting to the Operations Manager. You will lead plant personnel and provide direction in operations area to produce the best quality product possible, at the least cost standards. You will coordinate the availability of raw materials; ensure the functioning of production machinery is adequate to meet our production demands. Train personnel to meet all production demands. Partner with HR for personnel issues, including interviews, hiring, evaluations, corrective counseling, and further training.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for food safety and quality.
  • You will oversee production line to ensure product is produced according to specifications.
  • Assure compliance of OSHA regulations and corporate policies.
  • Assure our work force is trained in job requirements.
  • Ensure flow of critical information to all levels and shifts of plant management.
  • Monitor correct ingredient usage at plant standards while maintaining quality goals.
  • Coordinate production requirements with maintenance and engineering to ensure plant goals are obtained.
  • Promote continuous improvement in production process to improve safety, cost effectiveness, and product quality.
  • Assure safety awareness and training is provided by supervisors.
  • Report ingredient usage and labor figures for proper costing and recall requirements.
  • Share important metrics with supervisors to promote continuous improvement.

Position Qualifications

  • B. S. degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Biology, Industrial Management, or related field from a four-year college or university (preferred)
  • 4+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the food industry.
  • Working knowledge of production equipment and systems including maintenance activities.

Physical Requirements

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are required to talk and hear. You are frequently required to stand and walk. You are occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. You must occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Compensation: 

Pay Range:$79,000-$115,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
