Job Description

Job Description: Pipefitter Pipefitter, is responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blue prints. Production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Pipefitter may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. We stress the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards. Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 Yrs. trade experience
• Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
• Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves
• Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements

Pay: Day Shift: $38.00 Night Shift: $39.00 Per-diem: $147.04 Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 Safety & Environmental Factors: All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
