Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Nursing Assistant (NA) provide direct patient care.

Special Notes:
* If a candidate does not hold PCT certification upon start date, he/she will be hired as a Nursing Assistant at the starting rate of $24.793 and will have the option to obtain PCT certification through Eastern Long Island Hospital’s training curriculum. Upon completion of training, the employee’s base salary will be increased to PCT hourly rate. Candidates with PCT certification and demonstrated phlebotomy competency upon hire will receive the hourly rate of $27.185.
* Employee must be in good standing for participation in the PCT Certification program. The PCT Certification program is scheduled on an as-needed basis, and participation will be evaluated when sufficient interest is shown.
* Hourly rates of Patient Care Technicians increase after the 2-month probationary period to $27.718 and after completion of 1 year of employment the rate increases to $29.177.
* Hourly rates of Nurse’s Assistant increase after the 2-month probationary period to $25.326 and after completion of 1 year of employment the rate increases to $26.659.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBEILH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

With 70 beds, SBELIH is Suffolk County’s first hospital, serving the North Fork since 1905.
