Are you interested in being part of an amazing team and support NCIS’s mission? We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Quantico. You will be part of the operations and maintenance team, in support of critical applications used by the law enforcement and intelligence communities. As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will be in charge of multiple single instance databases across different enclaves; ensuring availability of services, security compliance of mandatory requirements, operational and performance improvements, and backup and recovery procedures. DUTIES:
• Maintain and monitor existing Oracle 19c installations and databases.
• Monitor, maintain, coordinate and improve hardware and software resources such as RAM, CPU, storage, kernel limits, etc.
• Identify, study, and apply Quarterly Patches.
• Migrate data using RMAN or Data Pump.
• Upgrade Oracle installations to higher versions.
• Monitor and correct space utilization, performance, connectivity, and other related issues.
• Assist with OS patching of Oracle servers.
• Review and apply security compliance requirements.
• Backup databases and validate backups.
• Provide DBA support during application upgrades and code deployments.
• Automate processes.
• Assist developers and users with SQL and PL/SQL requests.
• Maintain Enterprise Manager 13.5 environment.
• Attend to configuration and installation meetings, new technology implementation meetings, and other meetings that require Database Administration input.
• Provide guidance to leadership with scalability and improvement concepts. REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 5+ years of experience with database administration and IT Operations
• BS Degree in IT Studies or Computer Science or 4 additional years of work experience in lieu of degree
• COMPTIA Security+ CE
• Oracle DBA working knowledge in 12c/18c/19c environments
• Linux Shell Scripting to automate processes and jobs
• Linux knowledge to lead OS and/or Oracle versioning upgrades
• Excellent OS and Database troubleshooting skills
• Maintain and manage RMAN backup environment and processes
• Working knowledge of database restoration and recoverability
• Database or dataset migrations
• Support of TEST and DEV environments
• Monitor physical and logical space
• Monitor alert logs for issues
• Basic knowledge of system administration and systems integration concepts
• STIG checklist review process, remediation of vulnerabilities, and implementation of changes
• US Citizenship Required DESIRED SKILLS:
• Oracle 21c and 23ai
• Oracle replication concepts
• Other database technologies such as SQL Server, Postgres, Alice, MySQL
