Job Description Responsible for the actions of all employees; personnel policies and procedures must be written, revised, and enforced. Responsible for overseeing all residents to ensure they receive appropriate nursing and medical care. Contracts with independent contractors for therapy, physician services, pharmacy, and dietetics must be managed in conjunction with ensuring adequate trained staff in all departments. Performs or oversees all accounting functions, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and monthly financial statements. Prepares an annual budget for the facility. Performs marketing techniques to improve and/or maintain resident census. Performs various public relations functions within the community on behalf of the facility. Ensures the facility environment and all equipment are in good repair and working order to provide a home-like environment for residents. Obtains all necessary licenses and certifications for the facility. Maintains adequate inventories of raw food, chemicals, and supplies. Conducts and/or attends staff and committee meetings. Performs other tasks to ensure the facility operates professionally. Strives to be receptive and responsive to the needs of residents and staff. Manages expenses and income to stay within budget. Minimizes workers' compensation claims by maintaining safety standards. Ensures timely billing and collection of accounts. Maintains confidentiality and loyalty to staff, residents, and owners. Keeps the central office and owner informed of situations that could negatively impact the facility. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or business administration. At least two years of experience as a long-term care facility administrator. Current State Nursing Home Administrator License.
