Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Nuclear Engineer, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position is ideal for candidates with technical expertise who are passionate about advancing safe, scalable nuclear technology. This is a general application for our Nuclear Engineering team and may evolve into a more specialized position based on candidate strengths and company needs.

You will work closely with our cross-functional teamincluding mechanical, electrical, and regulatory engineersto support the design, analysis, and safety development of Hadrons micro modular reactor. The role spans both core reactor physics and balance-of-plant engineering, with opportunities for hands-on design and innovation in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications & Skillsets

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in reactor core and neutronics design
  • Experience with Monte Carlo and deterministic simulation tools
  • Proficiency in MCNP, Serpent, CASMO, SCALE, or PARCS for reactor physics analysis
  • Strong understanding of thermal-hydraulics and heat transfer
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety analysis and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls (I&C) and radiation monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with NRC licensing or DOE engagement is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Passion for clean energy and a startup-minded approach to problem-solving
