Job Summary:

We are seeking a responsible and compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver to provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation services to individuals requiring assistance to and from medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, dialysis treatments, and other healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, safety, and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments and other non-emergency healthcare visits.
  • Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle as needed, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary safety features.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical staff, and passengers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Respond to any passenger concerns and provide appropriate support during transport.
  • Follow infection control procedures and ensure the vehicle is sanitized regularly.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 150 lbs to assist passengers as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (if required by state regulations).
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or elderly patients.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and dispatch software.
