The Music Coordinator plays an essential role in the Warner Bros. TV music department, providing support across creative, technology, and administrative duties. Key responsibilities include assisting with music searches, providing script breakdowns, and maintaining industry contacts. A crucial aspect of the position is managing the music library, which involves organizing, cataloging, and maintaining music assets and related music management software including metadata, playlists, and other organizational tools. This role is also responsible for cataloging, maintaining, and archiving digitized scores and WB-owned recordings. Additionally, the coordinator helps with special projects and other music-related tasks. Responsibilities include managing the department music library in the DISCO tool, assisting in creative searches and requests to music licensors, organizing submissions, importing and digitizing WBTV-owned music, maintaining departmental files and databases, assisting in obtaining schedules and materials from music supervisors and production departments, reading and reviewing scripts for music cues, maintaining industry contact lists, preparing TV and music-related presentation materials, managing file sharing and delivery, researching music-related requests, distributing incoming mail and submissions, providing backup coverage for other assistants, and performing other related administrative duties. Qualifications include 3-5 years of experience in the music industry, organizational and technology skills, knowledge of music genres and synchronization clearance and licensing procedures, interest in television production, proficiency in Mac and Windows programs, DISCO and other music technologies, knowledge of digital file delivery systems, and preferred knowledge of multimedia applications. The role requires managing multiple projects, attention to detail, effective communication skills, confidentiality, flexibility with hours, and a collaborative attitude.
