Mechanic

Do you love working on trucks? We have a large fleet of 100+ trucks, everything from half tons to semis. If you are looking for a place you can bring your mechanic experience and be part of a great team of mechanics for our St. Paul location , you have found the place. Village Green, with over 25 years of experience, is a locally owned company, with four office locations in Saint Paul, New Brighton, Brooklyn Park, and Savage. We are looking for Mechanics who specialize in repair & maintenance for our fleet of trucks & equipment. Winter Hours: Flexible schedule (40 hours per week). Spring to Fall Hours: Set Schedule Hourly Rate: DOE- $22-$40/ hour DOE FT Benefit Eligible - medical, dental, vision, disability, life, PTO
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for our Mechanic :

• Maintain and repair company equipment and vehicles. Our fleet includes: pickup trucks, dump trucks, semi-trucks, skid loaders, front end loaders, excavators, trailers and small engine equipment.
• Knowledgeable in brakes, suspension, cooling, light engine work, and transmission
• Drivability assessment – diagnose sounds, check engine lights, sensors
• Ability to trouble shoot hydraulic mechanisms such as plows and dump trucks
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams and instructions for repair and maintenance of equipment
• Demonstrates ability to problem solve electrical issues, 12/24V systems
• Metal Fab/Welding; wire feed and stick
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections
• Demonstrates timely and effective communication- verbal, non-verbal, and written
• Demonstrates high quality decision making in a fast paced and quickly evolving environment

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

• 3 + years of mechanic experience
• Valid driver license with a clean driving record
• Own your basic tools – company to provide specialty tools
• Must be able to pass a pre- employment drug test.

Preferred

• Class A license (CDL)
