Job Summary:

The Precision Medicine Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of program operations, with a focus on business planning, clinical operations, personnel supervision, and program development. The manager will have education and experience to use critical thinking and decision-making to grow and develop all aspects of the Precision Medicine program.

The Precision Medicine manager will demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Description:

Management:

  • Develop, promote, and maintain professional relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Train, develop and coach, counsel, assign duties and work schedules. Evaluate job performance and review performance appraisal with personnel. Initiate or recommend necessary counseling, disciplinary actions, termination, and commendatory actions.
  • Design/implement efficient services, offer revenue enhancements, monitor expenses, benchmark, encourage service excellence and provide effective communications.
  • Delegate and check daily assignments. Prioritize and delegate tasks and projects within the department

Program Development:

  • Lead efforts to identify, create, and respond to new opportunities to grow the impact of precision medicine across the hospital system
  • Manage projects and collaboration efforts to meet department goals, increase impact and visibility

Budget Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage department budget
  • Research and prepare budget proposals.
  • Monitor department expenditures to meet budget targets.
  • Encourage resourceful use of approved funds to execute projects.
  • Identify annual and long-term resources needed.

Quality:

  • Develop and provide oversite to maintain department polices and standard works
  • Develop and track productivity measures, patient satisfaction scores, associate engagement, timely documentation / closing of encounters
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (American Board of Genetic Counseling).
  • Must be licensed by the state where work is being performed

Specialized Knowledge:  

Comprehensive knowledge of standard hospital practices, procedures, and techniques relevant to the department and clinical schedules.

Experience in program development

Detail oriented and excellent problem-solving skills

Knowledge of management, leadership, and team development

Strong oral and written communication skills, strong reporting skills and the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.

Candidate needs to be an organized, self-directed individual able to multi-task in a busy environment.

Business poficiency in Microsoft Office products

Kind and Length of Experience:  

Five years of related experience, showing increasing levels of responsibility
