Landscape Architect Intern

Lawrence Group is a building design, development, and project delivery firm headquartered in St. Louis with offices in Austin, Florida and New York. With 170+ employees, Lawrence Group offers architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, furniture procurement, and graphic design services to a wide variety of clients, including housing, hospitality, healthcare, academic, and retail.

Lawrence Group is seeking an Intern for their Landscape Architect team January through August. This individual will be an integral part of the design team as we continue to grow our landscape architecture practice and will collaborate with architecture and planning teams within Lawrence Group, across all our markets.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. as directed by others utilizing REVIT.
  • Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Landscape Architecture.
  • CAD software: Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, especially AutoCAD, is required. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
  • 3D modeling: Knowledge of 3D modeling programs such as SketchUp and Rhino.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, is necessary for creating high-quality presentations and graphics.
  • GIS software: Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), like ArcView or ArcGIS, can be an asset for site analysis and mapping.
  • Hand sketching: A portfolio that includes hand sketching capability.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in team environment.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This position requires no minimum ability to lift, bend or stand.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary.

Travel

Minimal to no travel is expected for this position.

Reporting Relationship:

This position will report to the Associate Principal of Landscape Architecture.
