Jira and Confluence Administrator ( Contract) We are seeking an experienced Jira and Confluence Administrator and customer advocate to help guide our team in their journey towards becoming a world-class engineering organization. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our Atlassian ecosystem, supporting both on-premise and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Jira and Confluence, addressing user-reported issues, permissions, and configurations. Respond to ad-hoc queries via Slack and other platforms. Create and maintain internal and customer-facing technical documentation. Guide and support customer implementation projects and enhancement requests. Deliver ad-hoc learning content to promote customer self-sufficiency. Assist with Jira board configurations and JQL tuning. Troubleshoot access, permissions, and integration issues. Install, test, and implement new versions of Atlassian tools and apps. Ensure reliability, security, and performance of the Atlassian suite. Create and manage complex Jira workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Jira and Confluence systems. Automate Jira functionality using scripts. Lead system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning. Evaluate and deploy Atlassian Marketplace apps and integrations. Support cloud migration and hybrid deployment strategies. Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. Ensure compliance with internal security and audit requirements. Participate in change management and incident response processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sprint goals and continuous improvements. Requirements Required Skills & Experience 4+ years in IT support and customer engagement. - Must have 3?5 years of hands-on experience administering Jira and Confluence in enterprise environments. - Must have Strong understanding of Atlassian Cloud and Data Center architectures. - Must have Proficiency in JQL, REST APIs, and automation tools. Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication abilities. Experience with Linux, Bash, and Unix command line. Exposure to DevOps practices and public cloud environments (AWS preferred). Comfortable working in agile and scrum-based teams. Preferred Qualifications Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or equivalent. Experience with Jira Service Management. Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace plugins and integrations. Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Groovy. Experience with PostgreSQL and Jira add-on development.
