This role is based in Seattle, WA. What You’ll Do As our HVAC Service Manager, you’ll lead a skilled team of dispatchers, project administrators, and service technicians, providing direction, pace, and accountability while connecting HVAC service to JH Kelly’s broader goals. Salary Range $125,000 - $175,000 annually (DOE), FLSA exempt. Here’s a deeper dive into what you’ll take on: Lead and mentor a tight-knit team of dispatchers, project administrators, and service technicians, fostering collaboration and innovation in a flat organizational structure. Conduct regular 1:1s to provide guidance, set clear performance goals, and ensure accountability through constructive feedback and professional development plans. Cultivate a safety-first, customer-service mindset, ensuring your team delivers exceptional support to clients while building trust and alignment across the company. Actively participate in recruitment, mentoring, and training of team members. Operational & Service Excellence Oversee daily service operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, dispatch, and troubleshooting of heating, cooling, and ventilation mechanical systems in commercial and institutional buildings. Champion processes, procedures, and key performance metrics to drive revenue, margins, employee engagement, and excellent customer satisfaction. Provide exceptional customer service support by responding to inquiries and resolving issues on time using effective communication (email, phone, in-person). Maintain proactive and positive relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams (shop/field craft, safety, accounting, IT, CAD/BIM). Financial & Performance Oversight Lead budget management, sales initiatives, and financial forecasting to ensure service operations align with company goals. Monitor service metrics, team performance, and customer feedback to continuously improve operations and user experience. Drive efficiency by implementing streamlined processes and innovative solutions based on business needs, systems, data, and resources. Safety & Compliance Leadership Promote and enforce a safety-first culture across all service activities, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company policies. Engage in industry associations to support and promote JH Kelly’s business initiatives. Plan, direct, and coordinate work to ensure smooth operations and on-time project delivery. Explore and implement innovative solutions to improve current processes and systems. What You Bring Experience: 10+ years of experience in HVAC Service, involving knowledge of heating, cooling, and ventilation mechanical systems serving commercial and institutional buildings. Experience managing a successful service team, developing team members, driving new business, and troubleshooting mechanical systems. Skills: Strong interpersonal, project management, and organizational abilities to handle high-volume responsibilities. Exceptional verbal, written, and telephone communication skills. Mechanical aptitude with analytical skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical individuals. Mindset: Decisive, approachable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Passionate about safety, team building, and fostering positive relationships. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Bonus points for experience with service management software, dispatch systems, or data-driven process improvement. Education: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or applicable degree, or equivalent experience. Physical Requirements This office position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Candidates must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and using a mouse. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching are necessary. The role also requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling office equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
