We have multiple providers of all specialties and are located in several of our surrounding areas. Must report to the office in Blackfoot daily.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: 1-2 years related work experience is preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications: RHIT or RHIA.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Working knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of medical records and requirements. Able to perform precise and detailed work. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to manage and work as part of a team. Willing to continually update skills and knowledge Ability to work with a high degree of independence, with attention to detail. Ability to handle fluctuating levels of pressure and stress. Effective oral/written communication, independent judgment and decision making, well developed sense of prioritizing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review of RVU's and communicate with Providers and Coders. Daily Analysis and reporting of Uncoded and Unbilled opportunities and working with coding leads. Participates in education efforts for key hospital personnel related to compliant documentation opportunities, coding, and reimbursement issues. Communicates and coordinates with other HIM staff to resolve documentation discrepancies, including review of clinical issues with coding staff/ necessary for accurate ICD10, DRG, and CPT assignment. Conducts follow up reviews of clinical documentation to obtain clarification of clinical documentation and accurate recording in medical record. Responsible for facilitating improved overall quality, education and completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation per JCAHO/CMS and ICD-10 and CPT Coding Guidelines. Serve as the technical expert in health record content and documentation requirements. Good telephone etiquette and customer service skills. Demonstrates excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize and to work independently. Ability to problem solve and work as a team member. Demonstrates the ability to handle fluctuation levels of pressure and stress. Performs all other duties as per department needs and required by management. Bingham Memorial Hospital
