Weaver's of Wellsville is a fifth generation family owned food distributor and smoked meat producer in Wellsville, PA.
Position Overview
You’ll be joining a skilled and collaborative maintenance team, working directly with:
Our Head of Maintenance, a specialist in electrical and HVAC systems
Our Head Diesel Mechanic, who leads truck and reefer maintenance
Your primary focus will be on mechanical equipment repairs and facility upkeep, with support from subject matter experts around you.
A major requirement of this position is the ability to operate a CDL Class B truck on occasion. We are willing to train the right candidate, but you must obtain your CDL Class B license within the first 3 months of employment (we provide training).
You will also be providing your own tools.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair production equipment: slicers, stuffers, conveyors, grinders, etc.
Perform basic HVAC and refrigeration troubleshooting (walk-in freezers, coolers, etc.)
Conduct general facility maintenance (lighting, plumbing, carpentry, welding, etc.)
Support truck and reefer unit maintenance in collaboration with the diesel mechanic
Occasionally drive a CDL Class B vehicle (e.g., route fill-in, local deliveries)
Log repairs and assist with preventive maintenance scheduling
Follow safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout, PPE, food safety rules)
Qualifications
Required:
2+ years of mechanical or facility maintenance experience
Hands-on familiarity with tools and small machinery
Willingness to obtain a CDL Class B within 3 months (we’ll help)
Ability to work in refrigerated and meat-processing environments
Strong work ethic, team-oriented, and dependable
Preferred:
CDL Class B license (or permit in progress)
Experience in a food production or USDA-inspected facility
EPA 608 certification (HVAC/refrigeration)
Forklift certification
Lockout/Tagout and OSHA-10 safety training
Compensation & Benefits
Starting pay: $25/hour+, depending on experience
Company-paid CDL training, if needed
100% employer-paid healthcare after 90 days
1 week PTO to start, growing to 4 weeks
