Job Description

The Data Engineer Intern is part of the Information Technology department and reports to the Chief Data Officer. As our Data Engineer Intern, you will support our data infrastructure and analytics initiatives. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment. The Data Engineer Intern will be mentored by a Senior Data Engineer and will contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and systems, gaining hands-on experience with modern data tools and practices.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
  • Write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data from various sources
  • Write Python code for data transfer and manipulation
  • Support data quality checks and documentation efforts
  • Work with team members to understand data requirements and implement scalable solutions
  • Learn and apply data engineering best practices within our existing architecture
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need:

  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Python experience or willing to learn
  • Basic understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts such as data movement, data transformation, and ETL processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and reliability
  • Ambition to learn, share ideas openly, and take direction from others
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Exposure to or interest in tools such as Snowflake, DBT, and Fivetran
