Established, Reputable Baton Rouge contractor is seeking a Controller for rapidly growing business to strengthen internal controls and take them to the next level. Excellent chance for a strong financial professional with 5+ years of experience to enhance internal controls and take on a challenging business role.

Summary: The controller position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including oversight of all accounting functions, periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting system, record keeping, a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Compliance and Reporting

• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
• Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
• Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including sales tax reporting to various state and municipal entities
• Issue timely and complete financial statements
• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
• Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four year accredited college or university
• At least 5+ years of related experience in accounting
• Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations
