Job Description The Construction Technical Writer creates detailed, compliant, and persuasive proposals for construction projects at mission‑critical facilities. The role collaborates closely with project managers, estimators, and engineers to develop comprehensive, competitive proposal narratives that reflect the scope of work, schedule, assumptions, and exclusions of a construction solution, highlighting DGS's strengths and unique value. Responsibilities Write high‑quality technical proposals for construction projects, including RFP responses, quotes, bids, and prequalification submissions. Create clear, concise, and accurate written technical content addressing customer requirements and specifications, supporting research and collaboration with engineers, purchasers, and subject matter experts. Develop detailed scopes of work, execution plans, technical methodologies, and resource plans as part of proposals. Integrate cost estimates and project schedules into proposals, ensuring alignment with technical solutions. Review and edit proposals for clarity, correctness, consistency, and compliance with client specifications and company standards. Ensure technical content meets applicable regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Organize, maintain, and update proposal templates and technical documentation for future use. Participate in internal proposal reviews and incorporate feedback to improve content. Present proposal content to customers, business partners, and external stakeholders. Qualifications Extensive knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, materials, regulations, and safety standards for both fixed and modular construction. Strong understanding of technical writing fundamentals, techniques, and practices. Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Required Education and Experience Associate's degree in construction management, technical communication, engineering, architecture, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience creating construction proposals and related documents, including at least 2 years writing proposals for federal contract opportunities. Work Authorization / Security Clearance Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance, be authorized to work in the U.S., pass background checks, drug tests, vehicle record reviews, and possess a valid driver's license. Travel Occasional travel to CONUS company facilities as needed.
