Job Description

Rockaway Compounding Pharmacy Team is looking for our Next Team Member:

Responsibilities:
  • The Technician is primarily responsible for working with the PIC or Pharmacist on Duty to manage workflow and daily operations of the Pharmacy. 
  • Responsible for working at the prescription intake counter, receiving and typing new prescriptions and processing refills. Ability to fill in competently at all other non-pharmacist positions, as needed. Assist the PIC in making purchasing decisions and managing inventory. 
  • Work under the supervision of the PIC to schedule all technicians, cashiers and students to meet the needs of the store. Responsible for orientating and training new staff. 
  • Ability to resolve minor problems and recognize when to involve upper management. Ability to prioritize, organize and stay on-task. Responsible for compliance with work place policies and procedures. 
  • Assist with the opening and closing of retail location. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workplace for co-workers and customers. 
  • Follow compounding formulas and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to prescription requirements.
  • Communicate in a friendly, patient and professional manner. Present a professional image via proper hygiene and grooming, as well as adherence to company dress code. Must be flexible and responsive to perform these and other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for regulatory and inspection purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in retail or pharmacy setting a plus, but not required ( ideally in a compounding pharmacy setting).
  • Must be willing to learn.
  • Must project a professional image and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) is highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Available to work on Saturdays ( 10 AM to 1 PM).


Pay Rate:

  • $18-21 per hour , flexible hours.
