Coffee Shop Manager

Thomasville, GA | $42,000 Annually

We are partnering with a local coffee company located in downtown Thomasville, GA, who is seeking a dynamic and experienced Coffee Shop Manager to join their team. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of our Coffee Shop, managing a team of dedicated individuals, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. This is a hands-on supervisory position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to all team members in the coffee shop
  • Create and manage employee schedules
  • Maintain inventory levels and order products
  • Facilitate effective communication between the Director of Operations and coffee shop team
  • Address coffee shop issues promptly and with a sense of urgency
  • Contribute to the achievement of sales, financial, and team member satisfaction goals
  • Utilize knowledge of COGS and best practices to control and reduce costs
  • Drive sales to meet strategic plan goals
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for bakery, barista, and kitchen teams
  • Train and coach teams on health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Develop and execute training programs for team
  • Implement and communicate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop
  • Effectively communicate policy and procedural changes to team
  • Act as an ally to the business and advocate for team
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers and vendors
  • Manage payroll and balance tip share program
  • Conduct audits of checklists, temperature logs, prep lists, recipes, menu builds, and waste logs
  • Schedule trainings, team meetings, huddles, all-team clean days, and special events
  • Play an integral role in performance reviews
  • Coordinate equipment repairs with local business partners
  • Collaborate with bar and kitchen leads on new specials and holiday menu items
  • Manage the POS system and ensure its organization
  • Demonstrate knowledge of breakfast and lunch food menu options
  • Possess knowledge of traditional espresso, coffee, tea, smoothie, and holiday drink offerings
  • Prioritize the customer experience
  • Handle money, track deposits, and manage petty cash bank

Education / Experience

  • Management experience in coffee shop (highly preferred)
  • Candidates with restaurant experience or in a similar fast-paced environment considered
  • 3 - 5 years management experience (preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED

Requirements

  • Ability/aptitude to work with various coffee brewing equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Ability to utilize strong problem-solving skills and develop new ideas and solutions to problems.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to read and use a Square POS system
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be able to bend, stoop, and reach
  • Have attention to detail
  • Wear comfortable but non-baggy clothes
  • Have a clean background
  • Work well with others and individually
  • Have a clean drug screen
  • Lift up to 25 pounds throughout shift

Location: Thomasville, Georgia

Pay Rate: $42,000 Annually

Schedule: 40-50 Hours A Week, schedule varies
