Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and compassionate Chief People Officer to lead our people strategy and support our team in delivering on our promise of care and dignity.The Chief People Officer (CPO) serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of human resources. This includes talent acquisition and retention, organizational development, DEI, compliance, employee relations, workforce planning, and culture-building initiatives. The CPO will shape and lead a people-first strategy that supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability in a complex care environment.Key Responsibilities:Strategic LeadershipDevelop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and leadership development.Lead change management initiatives to support innovation, growth, and cultural alignment.Talent ManagementOversee full-cycle talent acquisition with a focus on mission-aligned, high-performing candidates across all levels.Drive retention strategies in a high-demand caregiving environment through engagement, recognition, and professional development.Lead performance management systems and succession planning efforts.Culture & Employee EngagementCultivate an inclusive, respectful, and purpose-driven culture across the organization.Promote and lead diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategies.Oversee employee satisfaction initiatives, feedback loops, and action planning.HR Operations & ComplianceEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations (e.g., Title 22, OSHA, EEOC, labor law).Oversee compensation and benefits strategy, including competitive wage practices and total rewards.Manage HRIS systems, personnel policies, and documentation to ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability.Lead all aspects of union relations including contract negotiations, labor agreements, grievance procedures, and maintaining collaborative labor-management partnerships.Organizational DevelopmentDesign and oversee leadership development and training programs to build capacity at all levels.Develop internal communication strategies to strengthen employee trust and alignment.Guide initiatives that improve interdepartmental collaboration and employee morale.Qualifications Required:10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior/executive HR role.Demonstrated experience in healthcare, senior care, or mission-driven environments.Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.Proven track record of building culture, enhancing retention, and supporting organizational growth.Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s or HR certification strongly preferred).Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., assisted living, skilled nursing, or healthcare).Passion for senior care and people-centered leadership.Personal AttributesEmpathetic, emotionally intelligent, and deeply values-driven.Strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution.Collaborative and approachable leadership style.Resilient, resourceful, and committed to fostering a thriving, compassionate workforce.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
