The Johns Hopkins Children’s Center (JHCC) and Department of Pediatrics seek a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to drive strategic initiatives, manage budget and finance, and oversee operations. The CAO will lead the execution of the strategic plan, focusing on innovation, growth, market expansion, and workforce stabilization. They will play a critical role in aligning departmental goals with the broader mission of the health system and building upon the Johns Hopkins pediatric network. This position is pivotal in driving the strategic development and operations of pediatrics inpatient services and the pediatric network, ensuring the highest standards of clinical, academic, and research excellence. The CAO will drive the alignment of shared vision, procedures, and protocols across affiliated hospitals and ambulatory sites staffed by the department’s physicians, underscoring the importance of this role in driving new directions for pediatric health, as well as maintaining the highest quality of care. Advocacy within our local, regional and national community is a fundamental aspect of the Johns Hopkins pediatric health care team and will be supported by the CAO. In addition to strategic planning and operational management, the CAO will foster relationships with all levels of administration within the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Health System, and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. By providing analysis, consultation, and planning support to the Co-Directors of JHCC and the executive leadership team, the CAO will align the department’s goals with the broader objectives of the Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS). This will include optimizing organizational capacity, enhancing financial performance, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pediatric care across various care locations- current and future. The CAO has a comprehensive scope of responsibilities, including strategic thinking and organization, financial management, budget execution, grants management, and personnel recruiting, retention, and professional growth. The role also involves overseeing the department’s Professional Fee Billing Office, Access Call Center, and clinical staff, ensuring compliance with the regulations of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Clinical Practice Association. This position requires a deep understanding of national healthcare and research trends, making it an ideal opportunity for a seasoned administrator to make a significant impact on pediatric healthcare delivery and innovation.
