Join to apply for the Chief Administrative Officer - Central Puget Sound role at Providence 3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Description Reporting to the President and CEO of Swedish Health Services, the Chief Administrative Officer – Swedish Medical Center provides leadership, direction, planning, and oversight of operational matters for Swedish Medical Center (SMC) in Seattle, Washington. Under the general direction of the President and CEO of Swedish Health Services, the CAO is the key leader of the SMC organization, partnering with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Chief Nursing Officer to implement SMC's strategic plan and manage daily operations. The CAO's responsibilities include: Monitoring, assessing, and enhancing operational processes to meet hospital objectives and metrics Leading initiatives to improve resource management, quality of care, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction Overseeing SMC's operating budget, staff productivity, key contracts, and operational accountability for select service lines Establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, hospital administration, community leaders, government officials, and other key groups Essential Functions Model and lead the organization's Mission, Core Values, and Providence Promise Lead regulatory and accreditation activities in collaboration with the CMO and Chief Nursing Officer Drive high standards and continuous improvement in clinical, operational, and financial metrics Engage and empower caregivers and providers to support job satisfaction, safety, and innovation Manage the hospital's budget and participate in financial planning Develop strategic relationships to advance clinical and operational goals Translate strategic priorities into operational results Make informed healthcare operations decisions Attract, develop, and retain talented staff; foster a positive work environment Provide coaching and development to others Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences Delegate authority and empower staff to make decisions Influence stakeholders to achieve organizational goals Lead organizational and cultural change initiatives Identify and capitalize on market opportunities Establish and commit to long-term healthcare strategies Maintain a confident and credible executive presence Qualifications Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in healthcare 7 years of progressively responsible leadership roles in healthcare Experience managing operations in an acute care hospital or medical center Strong understanding of healthcare trends and strategic planning Proven ability to lead organizational change and develop effective teams Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills Personal values aligned with Providence’s mission and values About Providence At Providence, our strength lies in Our Promise of “Know me, care for me, ease my way.” We support our caregivers and foster an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued.
