About the Role:
The Extended Care Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals with serious emotional disturbances (SED) by providing compassionate and effective care within a structured clinical environment. This position focuses on assisting patients through crisis intervention, conducting clinical assessments, and implementing individualized discharge plans to promote recovery and stability. The technician collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure continuity of care. By actively engaging in patient care, the technician helps to create a safe and therapeutic environment that fosters mental health and well-being. Ultimately, this role contributes to improving patient outcomes and supporting the overall mission of Cornerstone- Stepping Stones in delivering high-quality behavioral health services.

The Behavioral Health Technician utilizes clinical documentation skills daily to ensure all patient interactions and care activities are accurately recorded, supporting continuity and quality of care. Crisis management and intervention skills are essential for effectively responding to acute patient needs and maintaining safety within the care environment. Clinical assessment abilities enable the technician to evaluate patient conditions and contribute valuable insights to treatment planning. Knowledge of mental health principles and discharge planning ensures that patients receive comprehensive support throughout their care journey. Maintaining documentation and patient care skills allows the technician to collaborate efficiently with healthcare teams, ensuring that all regulatory and clinical standards are met while fostering a supportive atmosphere for patient recovery.
