What you’ll be doing...

The Security Operations Manager will support numerous Security programs to ensure compliance with specific contracts. This will include the determination of appropriate security handling of documents, systems, hardware media, and staff reporting obligations. In providing guidance, you will have an advanced working knowledge of each contract. In this role you will assist with security administration and provide support for all aspects of physical, personnel, administrative, communications, operations and computer/systems security.

  • Conducting security briefings, training, investigations, risk management activities, new employee briefings, and annual refresher training.

  • Reviewing security applications, various customer-specific forms, customer security requirements, and statements of work.

  • Providing direction and security guidance, and ensuring compliance for all staff security reporting obligations.

  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of a departmental insider threat program.

  • Initiating and maintaining internal security awareness programs, and helping to execute security self-inspections.

  • Assisting with the design and building of new data centers and administrative facilities as required.

  • Assisting with the management of alarm, access control, and video surveillance systems, and providing after-hours alarm/emergency response as required.

  • Working with specific customer security contacts and teams.

  • Communicating frequently with external POCs to obtain guidance, rulings, approvals, and acceptable deviations or waivers for compliance with contractual policies and regulations.

  • Assist with video, badge, and alarm reviews as required.

  • Create incident and security violation documentation for submission as needed.

  • Provide guidance and policy interpretations for department personnel.

  • Provide advanced direction to security operations related problems while ensuring full compliance with policies/standards. Researches solution options when issues arise and presents solution(s) recommendations to management.

  • Plan, coordinate, manage actions required to execute objectives with broad guidance; works independently, achieving results with some oversight.

  • Ensure all actions follow Verizon CPI-810, as well as federal, state, and local laws governing the use, protection, and safeguarding of personal information and other sensitive data.

  • Discern and apply the proper standards for the protection of unique data.

  • Provide support for all aspects of physical security operations by conducting self- inspections.

  • Coordinate with security vendors as needed to ensure the installation, upgrades, and maintenance for hardware and software components.

  • Reviews current operations, policies, SOP’s, SPP’s, and recommends ways to streamline operations.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Willingness to be site based

  • Candidate must be able to pass an extensive Verizon initiated background investigation as a condition of employment.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Security Operations experience including the handling, identification, analysis and resolution of various security-related matters with limited guidance.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Independent judgment and discretion, and risk analysis skills.

  • Ability to juggle competing demands and to prioritize work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, while paying strict attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of Digital Monitoring Panels (DMP) and Software House/C-Cure access control systems.
