Join a team that has the environment down to a science. Your Opportunity We are looking to expand our Northern California archaeological team. This position can be based out of any of our Nor-Cal offices and will report to our On-Call Staff Supervisor in our Petaluma office. Work will take place throughout California, with potential opportunities in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. This is a fieldwork position, with work heavily influenced by seasonal weather. On occasion, there may be opportunities for office and/or lab-based work. Your Key Responsibilities Participate in identifying and recording areas of archaeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites. Work closely with a Field Director/Supervisor to make technical recommendations for cultural resources management. Collect field data. Participate in field reconnaissance surveys (linear and block type). Assist in archaeological impact assessments. Conduct excavations. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Interest in Cultural Resource Management. Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture. Able to travel and work away from home. A valid California driver’s license is required. Education And Experience A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required, with a minimum of 1 year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience preferred. Participation in an archaeological field school is considered an asset. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs. This description is not exhaustive, and duties may be assigned or changed at any time. Additional Information Salary ranges vary by location, with SF Area at $31/hr and other areas at $25/hr, and potential bonuses. Benefits include health plans, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and more. We consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records per local laws.
