Position Details:

• Position: Special Education Teacher

• Location: Mercer County, NJ

• Duration: 2025-2026 School Year (all year round school)

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm

• Compensation: Starting at $45/HR

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with diverse learning needs, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate individual education plans (IEPs).

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success.

• Assess student abilities and progress regularly, adjusting instructional methods and interventions as needed.

• Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.

• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and accommodate students with special needs in various learning environments.

• Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and participate in IEP meetings and other team-based planning sessions.

• Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on student progress, challenges, and strategies for continued support at home.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

• Valid Special Education Teacher Certification for the state of New Jersey.

• Experience working with K-12 students with diverse learning needs, including those with mild to severe disabilities.

• Strong ability to develop and implement individualized learning strategies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
